Irresistible Chickpea Chaat Salad Recipe

INGREDIENTS
- 2 cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 small cucumber
- 3 medium tomatoes
- 3 tsp Chaat Party Spice Mix
- 1 small red onion, diced
- 3/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 2 lemons, juiced
- Salt, to taste
- Pomegranate seeds, for serving
- 2 tbsp tamarind chutney (optional)
- Serrano pepper, sliced (optional, for extra spice)
- Sev, for serving (optional)
- Spiced yogurt sauce, for serving (optional)
- 1.5 cups plain yogurt
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- 1 small serrano pepper, de-seeded and finely chopped
- ½ medium red onion, diced
- ¼ cup cilantro or mint, finely chopped
- 1 small cucumber, finely chopped
DIRECTIONS
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then set them aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and the drained chickpeas.
- Season the mixture with Tamarind chutney, Chaat Party Spice , lemon juice, and salt to taste. Mix well, ensuring all ingredients are evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix together all the spiced yogurt sauce ingredients. Adjust the seasonings as needed.
- Serve the salad in four bowls and top with diced serrano chilies, pomegranate seeds, and a drizzle of spiced yogurt sauce.
- Optional: Sprinkle some sev on top for an added crunch and burst of flavor.
