Mattar Paneer

Mattar Paneer

Everyday Paneer

Paneer, a versatile Indian cheese, adds a creamy and protein-rich element to this dish, creating a delightful contrast to the spices and flavors of our Everyday blend. It's super easy to make and tastes better and healthier than what you'll get at a restaurant. We hope you enjoy!

  • 1 package of paneer cubed
  • 1 chopped small white onion
  • 1-2 serrano chilis seeded and chopped
  • 2 big tomatoes chopped
  • 2tbsp minced ginger
  • 2tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 5tbsp heavy cream, plain yogurt, or coconut milk
  • if you're vegan
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 3-4tbsp Everyday Mix

  • In a pan heat oil with 1/4 tsp cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, and 5 peppercorns
  • Once the seeds begin to crackle add chopped onion and saute until onions are turning brown about 5 minutes
  • Add chopped tomatoes, green chilis, ginger, garlic, salt to taste and 3 tbsp Everyday mix and stir
  • Let cook on medium heat until oil starts to separate from the veggies, about 8 minutes
  • Add a 1/4 cup of water (if needed) so veggies and spices don't dry out and stir
  • Remove and throw away bay leaf, turn off heat
  • Pour the mixture into a blender and blend until smooth
  • After blending pour back into the pan
  • Add frozen peas and let cook, about 5 minutes on medium-low heat
  • Add chopped paneer, 1.5 tbsp heavy cream or plain yogurt and stir
  • Simmer for 5 minutes
  • Add another tablespoon of Everyday Spice if you want it spicier
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro (optional)
